I'll bet you've heard of 'Subliminal Advertising', right?  (Especially now during the freaking election dramarama...)  And I'm sure, even when the subliminals are pointed out to you, you still remain a skeptic at some level, right?  I don't blame you.  Me too.  I am still a huge skeptic overall, about pretty much everything.  (That's not bad or good.  For me, it serves me well as it prevents me from being swayed way off balance at the drop of a hat.  So, always keep your skepticism... but keep it in check too.)

Below are a couple of examples of subliminal advertisements.  See what you pick up from the initial picture first.  Then scroll down to see the spoiler. 

Coincidences or planned?  You decide.  Just don't ever forget the power of the human subconscience.  You need to know its power so that you aren't controlled by the tricksters using it against you.

Nothing short of the clouds parting in media land...

Fox TV has a long history of upsetting the status quo. At its launch, it gave the finger to the mainstream (as defined by the other networks) and introduced edgier shows such as "The Simpsons," "In Living Color" and "Married With Children." Sure, this meant smaller overall audiences than its rivals, but it scored highly with the ever desirable youth market, whom advertisers love.

Now it's raised eyebrows in the ad world again, this time by insisting on selling fewer ads during select primetime broadcasts (namely, JJ Abrams' "Fringe" and Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse"). From my perspective as both an ad guy and TV viewer, it's overdue brilliance.

For advertisers: This reduces the clutter, so that their ads stand out more and generate more recall (the number of viewers who can remember seeing the ad). Ideally, it also means fewer viewers flipping away or skipping commercials on TiVo.

For viewers: This means more actual show (approximately 50 minutes per hour, as opposed to the current 42), fewer interruptions and overall less advertising. Since advertisers will have to pay more per spot, it will also hopefully inspire the agencies to produce better ads. Why blow all that media-buying money on weak creative?

It's a move many of my colleagues in advertising have been recommending for years -- ad clutter benefits no one. But for this to happen, it took viewer migration to the Internet, TiVo teaching people how to skip commercials, and Fox's ad sales president being assaulted by commercials while watching a workout-room TV. (Don't you wish more TV executives would actually watch TV?)

My only question: Why stop there? As a football fan, I'd love to see the same reduction applied to games, where it seems a commercial is inserted between every other play. Seriously, do we need commercial breaks before and after kickoffs?

So high-five to Fox -- now keep going.

Ad un certo punto però l'anchor man manda un video comunicato sindacale in cui l'intera redazione del tg 3 si dissocia dalla decisione del Cda della Rai di spostare tutti i programmi di approfondimento di rai 3 (tipo primopiano) in tarda nottata.
Il comunicato dice che tale provvedimento è atto a modificare la divulgazione dell'informazione così come la conosciamo (che è già poca). Insomma non è proprio un editto bulgaro, ma un esilio da Marzullo si. Questa volta la dittatura mediatica sta attaccando l'informazione alla lontana sperando che nessuno se ne accorga perchè pensano che la massa sia cogliona. Anche io penso che lo sia perchè continua a non voler smentirmi.

I'm a huge Thursday night TV fan (5 hours of shows that I watch religiously!).

LOST! I'm a HUGE fan! I won't spoil anything in case some of you haven't seen it yet, but I do have to say that last night's episode gave me my #2 favorite quotes from the series when Hurley's mom said, "Jesus is not a weapon!" And the look on Jack's face at his dad's memorial! OMG!!!!

ER! And I desperately need to know who was in that ambulance!

Smallville! And the scene where Lois is comforting Clark after he watches the DVD from Lana. WOW!

OK, enough about tv. Just had to get those thoughts out though.

On a different note, woo-hoo! Our economic stimulus tax refund is in our account today and it's more than we were expecting. Got to love that. What are you using your refund for? Ours is going to bills. Oh well, it's nice to have a little cushion.

Ferraz voltava de São Paulo e estava sozinho em um carro da emissora quando o veículo foi interceptado por um Voyage de cor escura. Um homem encapuzado, então, disparou dois tiros em direção ao repórter, na região do bairro Rodeio.

Os criminosos fugiram. Segundo a assessoria da Rede Globo, Ferraz prestará depoimento na tarde desta sexta à Polícia Civil.

Há suspeitas de que o atentado esteja ligado a uma reportagem feita pelo profissional que foi ao ar no 'SPTV' do último dia 7 de maio.

Na reportagem, Ferraz informava a denúncia que o Ministério Público Estadual fizera contra 13 investigadores do Garra (Grupo Armado de Repressão a Roubos e Assaltos), da Polícia Civil, suspeitos de envolvimento em um esquema de cobrança de propina de comércios ilegais como desmanches e casas de jogos e prostituição.

O Ministério Público fez a denúncia com base em interceptações telefônicas e na quebra do sigilo bancário do delegado Eduardo Peretti Guimarães, chefe do Garra, supostamente líder do esquema. Com a quebra do sigilo, a Promotoria teria descoberto que o delegado tinha imóveis e carros avaliados em R$ 1 milhão, embora seu salário fosse de R$ 4.000.

Os argumentos da Promotoria foram aceitos pela Justiça de Suzano, também na Grande São Paulo, poucos dias após a exibição da reportagem. Os 13 respondem a processo.

Oficialmente, a Secretaria da Segurança Pública ainda não confirmou se a Corregedoria da Polícia Civil irá acompanhar o caso.

A Globo vetou a idéia de Renato Aragão de voltar a fazer dupla com Dedé Santana. Há algumas semanas, Aragão começou a trabalhar a idéia de retomar a parceria e procurou Dedé, de quem separou-se no início dos anos 90. Estava aberto o caminho para a volta de Didi e Dedé, que por muito tempo ficaram sem se falar. Mas nesta semana a cúpula da Globo disse não ao projeto. Na avaliação da emissora, a volta da dupla daria um ar "antiquado" ao programa Turma do Didi.

O capítulo 225 de Caminhos do Coração, exibido na noite desta quinta-feira, garantiu 17 minutos de liderança de audiência para a emissora. Na média geral, a atração também garantiu ótimos resultados, com 21 pontos de média, pico de 23 e share de 33%, consolidando o segundo lugar isolado na faixa das 22h29 às 23h27.

Já "Amor e Intrigas" registrou uma pequena queda e fechou a noite em 10 pontos de média e 15% de participação.

O quarto episódio do Aprendiz 5 O Sócio, exibido ontem à noite, conquistou o primeiro lugar de audiência na média geral, com 14 pontos, pico de 23 e share de 30% em toda a sua faixa de exibição, das 23h27 às 00h34. Foi o melhor share de todas as temporadas e a melhor média, se compararmos com o quarto episódio de todas as edições anteriores. A TV Globo registrou 14 pontos de média no mesmo horário.

Na quarta tarefa do programa, os aprendizes tiveram que definir a melhor estratégia para vender um kit de cocos. A equipe Foccos desrespeitou o dossiê da tarefa e enfrentou a sala de reunião. Daniel Nicolini foi demitido por Roberto Justus, por ser considerado apático e pouco envolvido com o grupo.
Mais tarefas e salas de reunião prometem esquentar a disputa entre as equipes Foccos e Masters.

(She-man Bree raps about how much she wants to be a man... again?)

Sorry for the tardiness of this installment of my ongoing coverage of the cracker rapper follow-up show "Miss Rap Supreme."

In review, it's not a very good show and both Serch and Yo-Yo can't seem to tell talented rappers from, well, just about everyone on the show.

In the first three episodes, Lionezz and D.A.B. (Down Ass Bitch) were elimanted (Lionezz was kicked out twice, actually) and Khia was disqualified for being a no-talent bitch with fucked up-looking teeth.

In episode four, the remaining girls split up into two teams and had a dance-off, complete with breakdancing, ass shaking, and garbage rapping.

Ms. Cherry did a fairly good verse and Nicky2States' dirty dance was pretty great, but everyone else did a pretty bad job. Lady Twist stood out as a problem because she was, well, too fat to dance, despite being the best rapper on the show.

Twist's team lost the challenge - and they should have; any team taking orders from Chiba is going to suck - and went to elimination, where their rapping made me once again consider not watching this show anymore.

Chiba did the worst of all the contestants up for elimation, but Bree (pictured above with the rest of her losing team) was annoying, too. Twist did the best job, with Ms. Cherry spewing her standard arhythmic mess.

However, Twist (the only contestant I almost enjoy) was the one eliminated!

Since she is just about the only ounce talent on this entire show (except for Serch, obviously), the reason for kicking her off was obviously a combination of her bad dancing (she's like 300 pounds, guys, of course she can't dance!) and because Serch knew that if they eliminated Chiba, then the retarded beef between her and Byata would stop, and he had realized by that point that the contestants' talent alone wasn't going to keep the show on the charts.

The remaining contestants are Rece Steele, Nicky2States, Byata, Miss Cherry, Bree, and Chiba.

I don't watch many shows, but I am a huge fan of this one....it's a must see for me every week.  I just appreciate watching the characters interact and their honest relationships.  I mean, it's true sometimes you don't get along well with everyone and there's an awkwardness.  There's also a sense of ridiculous behavior with the boss that makes me laugh, and wanting more.  I'll be waiting for season 5!

Having been a moderately big fan of the white exploitation rap show “ego trip’s (White) Rapper Show,” I was moderately excited for the sequel (sequel, not second season - you can only make fun of us white people for so long). Obviously this sequel was going to be no good at all. I mean, the first show was just a bunch of white racial jokes featuring a contestant sideshow with no real talent outside of Sullee (I think that was his name), and even he wasn’t that good.

Also, women rappers suck. The obvious exceptions are Lauryn Hill and Lady of Rage and maybe one or two others, but they pretty much suck. The reason could be that they can’t seem to come up with anything except acting like men or rapping about their periods or about giving guys blowjobs. And the ladies on this show are no exception.

The first episode has the ridiculously talented lyricist MC Serch and the shitty woman rapper Yo-Yo acting as judges for a lineup of shitty rappers who spit shitty 16s that Serch and Yo-Yo pretended were good.

After a few minutes of the stream of unbearable rapping, Serch & Yo-Yo decided on a few contestants - Bree, 23 years old, Byata, 26 years old, Chiba, 28 years old, D.A.B., 23 years old, Khia, 31 years old, Lady Twist, 22 years old, Lionezz, 29 years old, Miss Cherry, 23 years old, Nicky2States, 28 years old, and Rece Steele, 25 years old.

Here’s some quick personality profiles of each of them:

Bree - Bree’s this really, really manly chick that tries to talk in this deep voice, so she sounds someone doing a really bad 2Pac impersonation (she also throws up westide and sort of Crip walks all the time). She’s one of those chick rappers that tries really hard to be manly and ends up looking stupid.

Byata - Byata’s another manly white chick, just like Bree, and she is one of the better of the worst rappers on the show.

Chiba - Chiba is this funny-looking chick that has a messed up eye from a car crash (she tries to weasel street credit out of this little injury). She’s the only woman on here that can compete with Khia for title of Queen Bitch Goddess.

D.A.B. - D.A.B. is the kind of dumb ass bitch (DAB, get it?) that would call herself Down Ass Bitch and is always bragging about how she’s an ex-addict, as if that makes her street.

Khia - Khia is a has-been from a few years ago who looks like a man’s head with a woman’s body. She’s the worst rapper in the house, except maybe for D.A.B. She’s also the biggest bitch in the house.

Lady Twist - Twist is this cool fat chick that is the best rapper in the house. But I tend to like fat black chicks that rap, so I might be little biased in my observation.

Lionezz - Lionezz is some talentless clown that looks like a religion teacher I had back in elementary school

Miss Cherry - Cherry’s kind of hot, so I’ve forgiven her morbid rapping.

Nicky2States - Nicky2States is the sort of hot contestant who is the only contestant who can compete with Khia for the title of “Craziest Contestant Ever.”

Rece Steele - Rece is a scary-looking chick that can’t rap for shit, either.

As is the style with these rap shows, the first three episodes consist mostly of the contestants smacking each other with dildos and screaming “Yo, bitch, I’ll fucking, oh shit, bitch, you bitch you gonna get fucked the fuck up, bitch, what, I ain’t no pussy bitch, what!” It’s not entertaining anymore. Sorry.

Also, the wrong people almost always get eliminated - for example, Lionezz was eliminated in the first round instead of Khia, who was obviously much shittier (this was reversed the day after, though, when it was revealed that the rap Khia spit in the elimination round was bitten from an album she did a few years back).

I don’t know why I’m going to keep watching this show, but I am (especially since Ghostface already made his cameo and I don’t really care about the rest of the guests that are going to be popping into the ladies’ house).

It’s not even that entertaining, and, frankly, I’m pretty ashamed of Serch because of this show.

OK OK!  *I* love this song.  It's a like mini workout.   Maddie and I were excited to see Oprah Cha Cha- ing earlier this week! Check it out!

As I said here before, I like Serena, she is gorgeous. But now the Georgia girl totally went for Dan and the stupid is falling for her! Not even an entire day that he broke up with Serena and is already making out with the bitch. That's how gross guys can be, you know?

But the thing is: they certainly could have picked a more beautiful actress to do the villain girl. This Michelle Trachtenberg, oh Jesus, who said she is pretty? I don't see it, just DON'T, ok?! She looks like an UGLY porcelain doll with horrible blue contacts! I hate her on the show, it doesn't make sense, they could have come up with a better idea!

In any case, I promise you more Gossip Girl next week! It's the season finally and some girlie doesn't hurt anybody, right?
